The debate was sponsored by the League of Chicago Theatres, Chicago Loop Alliance and several other community organizations.

It was an unprecedented move for the League of Chicago Theatres, demonstrating the economic impact of the Theatre District and all neighborhoods where theaters reside in Chicago to the candidates.
