Here I am at the end of the week – what a week! So sorry I missed my Monday, but I will be sure to be with you again next Monday April 6.This week, we had a reading for a new musical SAVED! It was really tremendous – the story is based on the movie of the same name and the cast was outstanding (even included Nessarose from WICKED – Heidi Kettenring). We are not sure where this production will go as they are still working on it, but we are sure that it has a future and is so good that it demands to be seen by a larger audience.
We are also busy planning a press conference for THE ADDAMS FAMILY. We especially love this show as it comes from Broadway producers that live right here in Chicago – Stuart Oken and Mick Leavitt. I can’t wait to tell you more about that. At the conference, all of the creatives will be there, and we hope to announce the stars of the show too! What is interesting about the producers and the company they formed Elephant Eye Productions is that they are not only working on THE ADDAMS FAMILY, but they are also the producers that did the reading for SAVED.
I think that the two favorite parts to my job are 1) the audience and 2) producers – after all without both of them there would be no theatre.
We are planning our next season and there are some really exciting shows coming up.
More next week…
