After this weekend, I can say winter is definitely here, and there is no better time to sit back comfortably in a plush theatre seat safely away from the elements. The thought on everyone’s mind right now is how am I going to make it through the holiday season and come out the other side smiling.
‘Tis the season to gather with friends and family. I’ve always said there is no better way to enjoy family than at the theater: a 2 – 3 hour break, off your feet, a comfy chair, in silence, watching talented performers! It’s a perfect day!
We are so lucky to have wonderful shows that are a treat for the entire family – TRACES, WHITE CHRISTMAS and WICKED – playing at our theaters over the holidays, not to mention the 150 other productions in the city. Take a break from the arguments and small talk that is typical of the holidays, and put someone else in charge of the entertaining. Theater is truly something the entire family will enjoy and something that will provide stimulating conversation for at least a day or two during the holidays, not to mention something you may remember for the rest of your life. Memorable experiences at a theatre are often what people talk about year after year; if you are the one planning the event, you can be seen as the family hero – insightful and generous beyond words.
Not only is the theatre warm and welcoming but it is just what the doctor ordered for a holiday to remember.
