One of our restaurant partners, Francesca’s on Chestnut, recently opened a new wine bar. Here are the details on the new late night spot, DiSotto Enoteca.
Chicago restaurateur Scott Harris is continuing on his quest to take over the city with the opening of yet another soon-to-be packed destination, DiSotto Enoteca. Located below Francesca’s on Chestnut in the Gold Coast, this underground wine bar and restaurant is the only late night spot east of Michigan Avenue.
Already gaining widespread support, DiSotto Enoteca features small plates, 130 bottled wines and warm, rustic décor. “DiSotto is a little Purple Pig, a little Davanti Enoteca and a lot of wine,” says Scott Harris. “We wanted to give this neighborhood something it doesn’t have but is in desperate need of, and as long as people are still coming in, we’ll stay open all night!”
DiSotto’s wine selection features mainly Italian and other Old World wines but will also include a few American selections. While the focus will be on the wine bar aspect, Chef Luigi Negroni is behind the small plate fare. The menu incorporates traditional Italian small plates including antipasti such as truffle egg toast, Mediterranean olives, ricotta with honeycomb and of course a wide variety of bruschetta and meats and cheeses.
About DiSotto Enoteca: Opened in January of 2011, Disotto Enoteca is the latest dining hotspot from celebrated restaurateur Scott Harris (Francesca’s Family of Restaurants). Located beneath Francesca’s on Chestnut, this wine bar and small plate restaurant is the only late night spot in the neighborhood. Featuring mainly Italian and Old World wines, DiSotto has 130 wines by the bottle and 30 by the glass. Menu items include tasty bites reminiscent of Harris’s successful spot in Little Italy, Davanti Enoteca. With warm, rustic décor of an Italian wine cellar, DiSotto Enoteca will be open until 1 a.m. during the week and 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. DiSotto is located at 200 E. Chestnut.
