Broadway In Chicago founded the Illinois High School Musical Theatre Awards. Broadway In Chicago is a Nederlander Organization, and Nederlander Alliances, LLC is a co-founder of The Jimmy Awards®.

Where is IHSMTA held?
The event takes place at the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place, located at 175 E. Chestnut in downtown Chicago.

What protocols are IHSMTA taking amidst COVID-19?
In an effort to celebrate students amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, schools will not be required to produce a full musical this yearIn order to keep participants safe during the live in-person ceremony, all participants (including the 24 nominees, event staff and audience attendees) will be required to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination. Further safety procedures and guidelines will be reviewed as further guidance and recommendations are provided by the CDC and Chicago and Illinois Department of Public Health. Broadway In Chicago will communicate updated rules and regulations when applicable.
