Elvis Costello will play The Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre in support of his album North, an album of ballads that debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Jazz Albums chart and remained there for five weeks. The album, which features Steve Nieve on piano, Peter Erskine on drums and Mike Formanek on double bass, displays a tender and intimate vocal side never before showcased on record as the eleven ballads are sung predominately in his baritone register. Costello and his band will play a total of 13 shows in cities throughout the U.S. and Canada. Costello released his first album in 1977, and since then, has made a number of albums, as a solo artist and with the group The Attractions, including Get Happy!!, Imperial Bedroom, King of America, Blood & Chocolate and All This Useless Beauty. Earlier this year, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
