Annie Lennox has long provided the world with a perfect mix of song writing, performing and musical composition — truly ideal to aspire to. Annie Lennox has been well regarded as a performer for many years. In recent years she has come to be seen as a talented composer as well. Her ten year partnership with guitarist David Stewart in the duo Eurythmics produced a number of transatlantic hit singles during the 1980's, such as their 1983 breakthrough “Sweet Dreams”, the haunting “Here Comes the Rain Again” and the soul-infused power rocker “Would I Lie To You?” It wasn't until she left the protection of Eurythmics that Lennox was able to truly test her wings as a full featured creative force. In the Spring of 1992 “Why” was released as a single. It was her first solo composition after the break-up and it served as an early indication of depths that Lennox had yet to explore. Diva Lennox's first full length solo album rekindled a current interest for her work in America. A commercial success, the album spawned chart-topping singles in the UK, such as “Why and “Little Bird.” Her success continued with a handful of Brit awards and a Grammy for the Diva video album.
